Join Furniture Lab, happening now in schools across Lane County.
Furniture Lab is a newly launched regional Manufacturing CTE project in which students across Lane County manufacture furniture for community members in need.
Furniture Lab builds from an existing network of CTE instructors, school districts, local community-based organizations, and industry and workforce partners. Furniture Lab not only supports a community need but is a workforce initiative that introduces young people to multiple career pathways in manufacturing and provides them with hands-on, work-based learning opportunities.

How it works
CTE Educators can select one of three kits:
- Refurbish Kit (beginner): Participants receive a piece of furniture that needs repairs or touch ups.
- Project Plan Kit (intermediate): Participants receive a PDF plan with a full parts list and plan instructions. Required materials are ordered and delivered through the Project Coordinator.
- Fabricate Kit (advanced): Participants receive furniture dimensions. Instructors/students design the furniture in partnership with the community organization, and the Project Coordinator works with the instructor to identify and order necessary materials.
