We would like to share several training and outreach opportunities offered through the Nurturing Inclusive Cybersecurity Education (NICE) project that may be of interest to teachers and students:

In-school field trips to inform students about career opportunities in Cybersecurity, We are ready to visit any high schools in Oregon (either in person or virtually depending on distance) to engage students in activities related to cybersecurity and inform them about career pathways and university programs in Oregon. We can also recruit and connect cybersecurity professionals from the same region to visit HS that are willing and able to arrange their visits.

Customized UO campus tours. We are ready to host these campus tours for HS students from Oregon. These tours include regular campus tour, tour of cybersecurity training labs/facilities, and information about admission and financial aid.

Cybersecurity competitions: we are planning a statewide cybersecurity competition that is open to all HS students but require a teacher or counselor from each HS to supervise the initial round of the competition at their own high schools.

NICE simply means Nurturing Inclusive Cybersecurity Education which is a project funded by HECC and organized by the University of Oregon. Our main priority is bringing cybersecurity to underserved students in both urban and rural areas across Oregon.
